Lu Mountain Temple
This is the Way Place where it all started for me personally.
It’s no longer active for public ceremonies but from time to time Bodhi Light holds dharma talks and other events here.
Sambosa Korean Buddhist Temple
A beautiful temple just outside of Carmel by the Sea in northern California. The temple abbot Dae Man Sunnim is very welcoming and the the Buddha Hall has must-see wooden statues and sculpting.
Hsi Lai Temple
I’ve mainly been a tourist at this temple and when you click the link above you can see why – it’s like a Disneyland experience with amazing statues and sprawling property.
I’ve learned so much about different Buddhist sages and histories just by walking around and reading the placques on each statue. There’s a lot of fun to try and land the coins on the statues in one of the gardens, will keep people young and old entertained for sure.
It has a book store and restaurant to replenish your energy while you explore, too.
